Harold Whitworth Pierce Charitable Trust Invests in HBI Projects

Historic Boston Inc. (HBI) is very pleased to announce a generous grant of $250,000 from the Harold Whitworth Pierce Charitable Trust to support current and future HBI projects.

Specifically, the funds will be added to HBI’s project investment fund for emergency acquisitions, project equity or patent debt for HBI’s preservation developments.

According to Board Member and President Emeritus Paul McDonough, “As a patient preservation developer, HBI deeply appreciates the value of patient capital in restoring at-risk historic places for new uses.  HBI is honored to receive The Pierce Charitable Trust’s contribution and the Foundation’s confidence in the approach we take to historic preservation.”

HBI begins construction on the Upham’s Corner Comfort Station this summer and is evaluating three additional projects in key neighborhoods for acquisition and rehabilitation.
