29 Jan A Big Thank You To Our Supporters In 2015!
Historic Boston is very grateful to everyone who supported the organization’s end-of-the-year fundraising campaign. You – our donors- are also our partners in preserving Boston’s past and building strong neighborhoods.
All donations to HBI- large and small- helped at year’s end, and launched a healthy new year for HBI with exciting project activity planned or underway in Roslindale, Upham’s Corner, Mattapan and Roxbury
A few highlights of things to watch for:
- In Roslindale, restoration of the historic Roslindale Substation begins in April. Chris Douglass plans to open his restaurant in the spring of 2017.
- HBI will begin rehabilitation of 1912 Upham’s Corner Comfort station in the fall of 2016, and the Sip and Spoke Bike Kitchen will open in the spring of 2017.
- In Mattapan, HBI will begin work on the 1860s barn at the Fowler Clark Epstein Farm as the first phase of the site?s transformation into a working farm and the headquarters for the Urban Farming Institute.
Thanks to your support, HBI demonstrates time after time that preservation of historic buildings is more than bricks and mortar. These projects restore overlooked historic places and bring new opportunities and enterprises to Boston’s neighborhoods. We thank you and will look forward to your continued support throughout the coming year!
