22 May Boston Design Week presents HBI with annual Social Impact Award
At its annual awards reception on Friday May 5th, Boston Design Week presented Historic Boston Inc. with the 2023 Social Impact in Design award at Boston Architectural College.
Hosted by WGBH Arts Editor Jared Bowen, the awards event honor five individuals and organizations for their contributions to fostering excellence in design across many disciplines.
Furniture maker Tom Moser of Thos. Moser received the Lifetime Achievement Award; North Bennet Street School and its President Sarah Turner accepted the Producer’s Choice Award; fashion designer Yolanda Celluci was chosen as Mentor of the Year; Historic Boston Inc. – HBI, received the Social Impact award; and the award for Newcomer of the Year went to Cannon Hill Woodworking.
Boston Design Week is an annual showcase of Boston’s design industries that aims to foster recognition of the vital role design plays in our lives, and bring new audiences to a wide array of design industries and organizations. Through a series of panels, tours and exhibits, Design Week aims to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design.
