HBI Receives Grant from the Kuehn Charitable Foundation for 50 Cedar Street Project

Historic Boston is very pleased to announce receipt of a $50,000 grant from The Kuehn Charitable Foundation that will help fund acquisition, and project pre-development expenses for the St. James African Orthodox Church at 50 Cedar Street in Roxbury.

The Kuehn Charitable Foundation’s mission supports projects that strengthen communities through affordable housing, historic preservation and open space. The Foundation continues the legacy of Robert H. Kuehn who devoted his career as a “developer of affordable housing and renovator of historic buildings”. Its support of the project is a vote of confidence in HBI’s core mission, which also firmly rooted in strengthening Boston neighborhoods through historic preservation.

HBI is grateful to the Kuehn Charitable Foundation for its commitment to preservation and to retaining the vibrancy of Boston’s neighborhoods. The project promises to bring new life to an important building for the Highland Park neighborhood.

Thank you, To the Kuehn Charitable, for your important support!
