11 Jun HBI Welcomes Research Intern Claire Pocius for 50 Cedar St. Project
HBI is pleased to welcome Claire Pocius to the organization as a research intern for the 50 Cedar Street project. Claire is a recent graduate of Brandeis University where she studied Business with minors in Anthropology and Legal Studies. This summer Claire is taking part in the CREST program (Commercial Real Estate Success Training), which prepares students and recent graduates for careers in Commercial Real Estate by placing them with Boston-based real estate firms for the summer. Claire was placed at HBI due to her interdisciplinary interests in business and non-profit organizations.
During her internship, Claire will work closely with HBI’s Director of Real Estate Development, Shaurya Batra, to assist with planning for 50 Cedar Street, and with researching models for re-activating purpose-built historic structures, like churches, for new commercial and non-profit uses.
A native of Chicago and Waltham resident, Claire has worked with the New England Innocence Project where she researched and investigated cases of wrongful conviction and presented cases to executive team for further action. Claire has a special interest in the interplay of law and regulation in the development of real estate and the roles they play in social and public policy priorities like affordable housing, senior housing, and sustainable construction.
Please join us in welcoming Claire to HBI.
