Historic Roslindale Substation Redevelopment Progresses

Historic Roslindale Substation Redevelopment Progresses

The final pieces are quickly coming together to make the redevelopment and historic preservation of the Roslindale Substation a reality.  Agreement has been reached with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) leading to the disposition of the Substation to the Joint Venture Partnership of HBI, Peregrine Group, and RVMS.

The Final Designation from the BRA is anticipated in August with Final Disposition and Closing on the building by year end. This has paved the way for permitting, ground breaking, and construction to begin on the adjacent residential component in July of this year with the historic restoration work on the Substation to commence shortly thereafter and later this summer.

In addition, after many months of planning, it is with great pleasure that celebrated local restaurateur Chris Douglass (Ashmont Grill and Tavolo Restaurant) joins the project team with an exciting concept for a restaurant in the grand space of the main floor of the substation. Chris and Peregrine are now pursuing complementary entertainment uses for the ground floor to extend the hours of the building and increase the pedestrian activity of the square.
