New Book “Tales From the Old Corner: Celebrating 300 Years”, Now Available

In November, HBI commissioned author, Susan Wilson, to write a history of HBI’s flagship property, The Old Corner Bookstore building. Through its life as an apothecary, a tailor’s shop, a cigar emporium,  a pizza joint, and beyond, Wilson explores the people and businesses that have called the building home for over three centuries.

The book is now available now as a .pdf. Read all about the history of the Old Corner Bookstore building, the oldest commercial building in Boston here.

Tales From the Old Corner: Celebrating 300 Years was written in conjunction with the special celebration for Tony Pangaro and the Old Corner Bookstore’s 300th year. Thanks to the funds raised by the event, HBI plans to stage a new program of preservation so that the Old Corner will receive the extensive care required of a centuries-old structure.
