Eliot Congregational Church, 1873, Roxbury, MA

 

The Eliot Congregational Church, named after the well known missionary John Eliot, was built in 1873 and designed by the architect J. Williams Beal. The church was constructed with Roxbury Puddingstone and has Tiffany studio-designed stained glass windows.

 

Historic Boston has worked with members of this congregation for more than 16 years on various capital projects including matching grants for lighting and capital repair on the church’s major tower, restoration of its decorative front door, and roof repairs to its gymnasium and auditorium.
